Davey Strange makes Melaphoric Sci-Fi Folk from the Sunshine Coast of England. Reflections on things through a campfire six string, paired with synthesisers that sound like Stranger Things.
After ten good years on the London indie scene, sharing stages with The Bluetones, The Mystery Jets, and Connan Mockasin, Strange boomeranged back to his hometown with a plan of making music for film. That never came to fruition, but a chance encounter with an old art school friend he hadn’t seen in years developed into a sharing of ideas and, back and forth between a rudimentary home studio and a less rudimentary garden studio, have been making music together since.
Like I’m in L.A., worked on remotely during a global pandemic, reflects on greener grass and gratitude and pretending to be somewhere else.
